Default Cures for Homesickness

Having lived here 10 years or so I never thought that I would still get periods of homesickness by this time. When I think back to the first couple of years I had some real roller coaster moments. I know being typical Brits we probably make a little corner of the UK for ourselves wherever we go, but I wondered what gets YOU through the real fish out of water days? I usually shut myself in a room with Radio 2 and a cup of tea.

Absolutely nothing. I get down, Dh gets annoyed we argue about it, he goes in a huff and then we just go back to normal programming. Sad and depressing.

Never had your symptoms sweetie sorry, but I do feel sad for folk that have those moments, strange but I do pine for Australia, not the UK.

Where are you from in Norfolk?

St John's Wort. Things that help me feel closer to home eg BE, UK TV programs etc...non of which were available 13 yrs ago when we first moved.

20+ years here so not so much but occasionally we do and it's usually cured by taking the Harley for a long ride along the gulf coast or up in the Texas hill country

Re St John's Wort.....

Ozzidoc's little warning - please note that St John's Wort can interefere with how well other medications work, especially the contraceptive pill and some anti-epileptics.

I agree that it does give a little, often much-needed lift
