One thing that really annoys me about Christmas in England, is that I can no longer (from early November) buy clotted cream in my local Tesco.
Why? Because they need the shelf space to stock several varieties of ridiculous Christmas-themed cream-based products .. brandy-flavored cream and all that kind of cr#p.
And what’s with all those trays of party finger foods? Who the hell wants to host a party anyway - in the middle of winter, or indeed any other time of year?

Mince pies will not be consumed until on or after 1st December, I think I have enough mincemeat from last year's batch. Indoor tree and decorations go up in the week before Christmas (because I won't have everything tidied up before then
), fresh turkey gets picked up next week and will go in the freezer until needed. I shall look out for a smallish pork shoulder or leg piece for curing for our Christmas gammon.

I remember buying some eggnog in a cartoon a few years ago. I thought it would be a bit like advocaat without the alcohol.
The others in the house all made faces. When I tasted it I could see why.
But I thought I'd give the eggnog ice cream ago and it's pretty good.
Bought some pretend Christmas cake today. Just to tide me over until I can get the real thing.

I had a case of the FOMOs so have ordered my beef roast and a smoked ham. I was thinking about glazing the ham but will probably bail on that, I know a glazed ham looks nice on the table but then you have to take all the bits off before you can carve it.

It is actually ice cream. I suppose you could let it become runny and drink it but it's pretty sweet.
I wouldn't fancy drinking it. At least eating it you're more likely to do so in small amounts.

Sounds fabulous…until I read it has rum flavoured ripples.
