The worst part of this prep (not the drink as its not time yet) is the being hungry, no amount of water, 7/up, broth or jello helps.... I just want to eat darn it.

If all goes to plan, I should be able to eat a nice solid lunch in 23 hours.

Make it something you feel you should eat but don't like. You might be so happy to eat it that you may like it.

I will most certainly be coming home and going to bed after this, I am so tired, only managed to get maybe 3 hours sleep.

*finally the last of the drink is gone, woo hoo. Why can't they make it taste better.....

I stock up on Bovril and herbal tea like mint and assorted zingers, and intersperse chugging the nasty stuff with drinks to kill the taste. The first time I had to fast, of course I hadn't laid in any supplies like Boost or Ensure, so I got really hungry, then re-read the instructions and realised I was allowed broth. I made soup out of all the leftovers in the fridge, put it through a strainer and drank the broth, and it was heavenly.

Interesting that.

I was told on both of my yak-pissery episodes that plain water was the only acceptable additional drink.

Had Bovril or Marmite been an option, then I'd have gone there like the proverbial rat up a thing that rats go up.

Had Vegemite been on offer, I'd probably have opted for more yak piss.

Clear fluids or broth was my instruction. Marmite and Vegemite both look like poop, so don't qualify as clear fluid.

I was allowed broth, jello, (yellow or green) 7-up, tea without milk, water, popsicles and ice.

My instructions allowed to the stuff to be mixed with apple juice, which did help a bit, but still nasty.

Anyhow it's done and over, they even provided a muffin and juice in recovery.

Anyhow the report the doctor provided lists the colon as healthy in appearance no visible signs of disease. Took some random tissue samples from different sections of the colon to test just to make sure there isn't something hiding, but visually the colon appears healthy.

The doctor was very nice, and took his time to explain the procedure, risks, and what he would be doing.
