Finished the guvnor into the flight to Sydney. The epilogue was a touch heart breaking, he wrote it when he knew he was dying of cancer, what a proper gent and apparently lovely man.

I'm exactly the same. I've got a Kindle but only use it for holidays as otherwise I'd need a suitcase just for my books. I'm such a Luddite and much prefer a paper book.

Currently reading the latest Bill Bryson, 'The Body'.

The History of Love by Nicole Krauss. A unique story of love on many different levels and a book I have read every year for the last 8 years. Just finished Whatever it is I Don't Like It by Howard Jacobson. Both are hard copies and I have dozens and dozens on my Kindle because the space that actual books take up gets ridiculous. At the age of about 40 I had over a thousand books so when it came time to move to a smaller house they had to go- it was heartbreaking.

I have read it off and on over the years, but the book is Bob, Son of Battle.

I am reading it as its an old book I found in a thrift store when I lived in a small town in Ontario, appears to have been printed in 1898 or around that time, and its interesting as the words and way things were written back then differs from today, its an interesting look into the past.

I broke my heart over my library of books when we emigrated. I still wish I have brought them all.
