We found it at our local 2nd hand book exchange ECK. It's rather dog eared but does the job.

My 50th anniversary read of Leonard Cohen’s The Favourite Game. Very nice copy too - first edition, 1963, Viking Press, New York, borrowed from the local college library.

I remember how much I enjoyed both his novels when I read them in 1970, but of course now it seems dated, misogynist, very jarring ethnic stereotypes! But it all adds to the fun. For anyone who loves Montreal it’s a must-read. I imagine francophone Quebeckers find it a bit annoying though. Funny, exhilarating novel.

A House In The Sky by Amanda Lindhout. A Canadian girl who went travelling and ended up kidnapped and held hostage in Somalia. Only 60 pages in but a damn good read so far.

West End Girls by Barbara Tate. A memoir .

Found it in our book exchange so gave it a go. There are some parts of this book I would prefer to unread so much so that I shared with husband. He is now also wishing to have unheard as it effected his ability to tie off ladders at Civil Defence training night.

Two books on the go

Julia Boyd "Travellers In The Third Reich" as an audiobook

and Sean Enright "The irish Civil War" (as a real book)
