Absolutely no stopping!

I'm twelve hours behind you and rarely get to see 'action'. I know that I can roll back 12 hours, but I don't always remember...

Not sure that's Bev's problem to solve though, to be fair. :p

S/he seems very unafraid though. I don't know if that's because s/he recognizes the rangers, or has no reason to be afraid because s/he could take their arm off if desired.

Probably a little from column A, a little from column B.

The highlights are good. This one reminded me of the scales at the chemist for weighing a baby.

I noticed that the rangers approached from the left but departed to the right. Any reason for that? Everything was done slowly, with such care and I thought backing away would be the way to leave rather than walk past.

Sometimes I turn it on just to watch some of the ordinary night-time activity, preening, adjusting, checking on the chick. You have to admire their patience.

Great footage. I had no idea they were so big. Sitting next the ranger, you can see that the bird is much the same size as his torso. Keep posting!

I'm waiting for Eggbert to fly. How much longer before first takeoff?

First they practice hovering. The art of wind under the wings . No practice flights as such. One day it is enough, the wind and diection is just right and they go. No previous sea flight taken.
The full grown fledgling with be away to sea then for an average of 5 years before returning to hopefully find a mate. They fly South America way.

Do you sometimes hear the penguins? Little Blues.

The parent will feed chick at night atm. Tiz 24/7

Nice bit of action from around 12.30am NZ time. Chick quite lively plus a parent changeover.

I think the cam itself shows the time at the top in NZ time so that makes it a little easier if it does.

The chick's up getting some air now, but the damned camera is out of focus.

Oh yes. I can see. Did you hear the sky call just now?

The camera is not out of focus for me. Daft question. Have you got the settings set to HD 1080 . That sharpens it up no end.

edit - sky calls.

That will likely be from young adults seeking to impress each other. Those are not the sky call from one mate to another. There may be a young'uns party somewhere close by.
