Default Baby names 2010

ONS has released the list of popular baby names in England and Wales for 2010 (cue outrage from the Daily Mail/Daily Express about how many Mohammeds there are). Some stability in the top 10 compared to previous years but the fun comes when you drill down into the lower reaches of the list, where there are some seriously bonkers/illiterate names.

Incidentally my name seems to be rather uncommon these days - my name comes in 221st on the list, in between Travis and Mustafa.
Three places above me is "Aryan". WTF?

Bloody hell - 491

My son fared a bit better, number 21! My daughter and wife both had names in the 200s for girls.

How odd. Apparently nobody else in the UK was named Herpes this past year.

My boring name has dropped right off

One of my little girls is in the list, her sensible spelling is lower down than the dorky spelling. No sign of the other one

Although, that may be a good thing too - makes you more unique. My son (Alex) has a very popular name and he hates it. On his football team last year, there were 3 Alexs FFS

Nobody knows how to say my name properly here of course

That used to be a bloke at some point, right?

Maybe chavs are the result of some genetic experiment gone wrong

I mistakenly posted "her" over him. I think you'd agree that the progeny of that union would definitely be an Igor.

If its any consolation, some people probably got your name when creating the others.

What would be the most international name? A name that can be understood and pronounced in any language.
