My best, probably my only significant, DIY achievement was, many years ago, when the front part of the drum parted company with the main body (weld failed). Couldn't afford a new one but I managed to disassemble the machine, drill right around both parts of the drum and then pop rivet the two parts back together - it worked, and ran at 1000 rpm without any vibration (miracle!). Yes, a few cuts & bruises along the way!
Maybe you should pop round to Eric's.

I try to avoid DIY.
- I put an MFI desk together and after I'd glued it in place I discovered the drawer was facing the back of the desk
- I have punctured a water pipe hammering nails into floorboards
- I was painting my living room ceiling and dropped a pot of paint on the floor. (Luckily it was after removing a carpet and before putting the laminate flooring down - which I did successfully after my brother got the difficult parts out of the way - after sawing through the edge of a coffee table)

You probably should not pop round to Eric's.
Or anywhere else really. In fact, if I were you I would stay well away from anything that looks at all like a toolbox.

I remember when I first started noticing the advice "Keep away from children" on boxes of matches, bottles of bleach etc. Such a sensible maxim and yet so often carelessly overlooked.

This is really the sort of public service info that should be printed everywhere, just in case one is in danger of missing it in the obvious places.

Yes, they've got much better at that now, too. More detail is provided so that you know what to look out for.

Damn right! But they were a freebie from my doctor about 6 months ago and the one I had worked very well, the rest are still in the box because I'm very addiction adverse these days. Besides I sleep like a log, just at weird times
