Today I shall be testing to see if there's any truth in the phrase "It can't be that difficult to change the door seal on a washing machine, can it?"

The Machine's got the upper hand so far. I've sustained wounds to both hands and one plucky screw is still putting up a fierce resistance.
I've had to re-arm with new tools. Battle will recommence shortly.

How long have you got before someone needs to do laundry?

My best, probably my only significant, DIY achievement was, many years ago, when the front part of the drum parted company with the main body (weld failed). Couldn't afford a new one but I managed to disassemble the machine, drill right around both parts of the drum and then pop rivet the two parts back together - it worked, and ran at 1000 rpm without any vibration (miracle!). Yes, a few cuts & bruises along the way!
