After a few overcast days and much needed rain it is now warm and sunny.

Highs of 83F/28C expected today and tomorrow., then the rest of the week is likely to be up at 86-87F/30C. Thunderstorms expected the next few days and, as we' re doing the whole crappy summer weather thing, our county is on a tropical storm watch. Everything south of us, on both the Atlantic and Gulf coasts, is on a tropical storm warning...

Otherwise it's not been too grim spending yesterday and last weekend toiling for eight hours a day in the yard. tidying up and making it shipshape for 'winter'.

We finally had some decent rain, the river Mira is actually a river, not a series of puddles, our barragem is half full (the turtles are happy!) and water is draining across the land, forming streams and waterfalls. Yesterday I fished out a baby turtle the size of a watch-face and put it back in the barragem (the streams will dry out in a few days) and saw a few salamanders and a grass snake in the water. Life goes on.....

Hopefully, we've just seen the last named storm or the season, here in the Caribbean. Onetime hurricane Eta just brushed Cayman - lots of rain but not much wind. Although, one fifty-foot-high tree did gently fall onto my wife's gazebo, without waking me. The water in our garden stopped rising about four inches below our deck, which was okay.

Now it's tearing up the eastern Gulf of Mexico, headed for the Florida Panhandle.

Got wet feet at work yesterday, not holding out for dry feet today either. Could be interesting stripping down a 60' carport and a 12'x8'x10' shed, in Punta Gorda, with all our coastline under Tropical Storm watch and my place is on the southern end of a Hurricane Watch, glad it was cool enough to have a good yard clear at weekend!!

It's not snowing. Long may that continue. As in for the rest of my life

Bit nippy this morning though but not too bad.

We had a pretty strong storm roll through last night, right as I was heading home from work. Rain was blowing in sheets, couldn't see a bloody thing in the car. Some pretty cool lightning too.
