Surprisingly nice...But after a couple of days of freezing rain and meh, it still looks a bit grim around.

It is a dry and perhaps sunny day.
We have the haze from the Oz fires hereabouts.

Same here with the haze but ours is from last nights fireworks/ gun shooting mania.
Temps stayed in the 60's all day but the air quality was awful!

We got 89mm of rain at the Harbor downtown, and 36mm at the airport, good example of our micro climates.

Currently around 10 Celsius, tonight not a lot lower, 7 - 8. However there will be rain tomorrow and then a much colder spell, and there may even be frost and snow.

Warm and rainy here this morning in Mississippi. 68 at 10 a.m. and heavy rains intermittently. Next week promises to bring back the 30 degree night time temps to the area.

Re: 2020 Weather Thread

Storm is coming. Currently 40F and light rain with temps expected to increase through the evening hours as the approaching storm is bringing warmer air with it. Seems we get more warmer storms in winter now, sucks for the ski resorts though.

Expecting 60-80mm (2.3 inches to 3.1 inches) of rain in the next 24 hours.

There was like a 25F drop in temp between the first kid getting off the bus and the second kid getting off the school bus yesterday.

It's still pretty chilly today. Supposed to warm up into the 60's in the next day or two. That's a 40 + degree swing in temp.

I believe we may be getting a pretty bad storm between tonight and Saturday. Unusual for January in SE Texas! Batten down the hatches.

What's that 'F' thing has anything to do with temperature?

Re: 2020 Weather Thread

19F with very light snow. Not typically this cold here, getting an arctic blast at the moment.

Averages for this time of year is 40-42F for a high and around 32F for a low, but it has been colder on this date, was 0F back in 1950 on January 14 but these are not typical temps for us, only occurs when we get an inflow of arctic air.

Looks like we return to seasonal norms by weekend.

Its cloudy today (praying for more rain) very cold last night 7c So of course our heating wasn't communicating with our living room zapper...Living room says its 21 c NO IT ISN'T ...
OH has to go into town and talk to Zapper man to see if we have messed up the controls...( yes we have, haven't we )
I'm ok with it, as I'm in bed after a night of puking ,following OH's attempt at heating up a disgusting apple strudel he bought in the frozen section...It wasn't 'obviously' cooked.
It does mean I get the duvet, and the blankets, and the hot water bottle.

If you ate a frozen apple strudel no wonder you are in bed with a hot water bottle:hysterical:

It's a bit warmer here but it has rained all day as well, so you traded another soggy humid rainy Texas day for a colder rainy day in the UK.
Hope everything is going ok!

The winter has been very mild by Toronto’s usual winter climate. We haven’t had many sub zero days and haven’t had much snow. It’s snowed a few times but only a few inches and it has usually disappeared within a week.

Same here, though we've dipped below zero a few times, albeit rarely, and we're looking at almost 50F/10C on Sunday. I love mild winters.

Sadly it's not mild enough for no snow so I am still coming down on the 'winter was a mistake' side of the argument right now.
