School closed today, likely to close on Wednesday too (luckily). I was, in a rare fit of giving a shit about employee safety, told I can 'use my better judgement' regarding coming into the office on Wednesday. Given no trucks are running, so no salt can be delivered and we can't even go out and service clients, and the fact that I can work from home mostly, I might not risk a potentially record-breaking windchill if it can be avoided. Even though I'm driving, that shit just sucks.

Bloody miserable here. -20C or so this morning, and a few extra degrees of wind chill on top of that due to the howling gale. Been snowing since before lunch, not expected to let up until tomorrow morning. Not looking forward to my drive home, I think I'll try to bail early.

Since Wisconsin is in on it, maybe Ontario is close enough too - are you guys in for the ultra-cold snap that's coming this week?

Yeah, I think I'll do a work from home too. I'm not at my most productive there, but it beats frostbite and the Metra trains are very likely to break in that sort of weather.

It really isn't a great idea for anyone to be leaving the house on Wednesday, the National Weather Service Windchill warning is touting -55F and below

This'll be the coldest it's been since I moved here as far as I know. During the last polar vortex in 2014, we hit -45F for wind chills, but it was about -15F without it (basically Wednesday's high temperature). Siberians are laughingly gatekeeping the cold weather as we speak, I'm sure, but I don't want to experience what that kind of wind chill feels like

Mid 40's F all week, does get a little chilly overnight low 30's F.

They say sun, but its been cloudy most of the day.

Disappointed with winter this year.

Victoria on the Island is warmer then Vancouver and cherry trees are already blooming.

Ugh !

Another 32c here. This is unusually hot and we don't have any sort of air con at home apart from fans as most years there would be no need.

Man, I do sometimes miss winter in a temperate climate

If what I'm hearing is true though, we may see 40F on Sunday though.

30°C and 60% humidity. The fridge is looking like a great place to sit! The humidity is due to climb to 90% overnight and temp to be about 20°C......ugh!
