The Rugby League Thread ...
I thought I'd do this to save us/me the trouble of sifting through 4 or 5 different topics ....we all know each other ...fnar ! fnar!! ...so why not keep everything league related in the one place ....
If you disagree then say so ..and we can revert to the seperate threads ....I just think that given that I'm usually tanked on the amber singing fluid when I get here ... one click is better than 5 ... Seperate note for those who can get Setanta ..they are showing they NRL as well as Super League....although for some bizarre reason the Super League is only on the TV networks and not broadband this season ... they are showing a shitload of NRL games plus a weekly review ... Its either next week or the week after but I noticed they are showing 3 NRL games in a row ... heaven  I'm about to plump for a ITVN box ...nothing to do with ITV in the UK ...its an internet service that you can plug into the TV ...I'll get Setanta for $14 ...not a bad deal in my book |

Genius idea! Perhaps a Moderator or Admin?? could tidy up the seperate threads into just one League thread or will the other threads be left to wander in cyberspace for years to come?

Well he may not have got the G.B. job,but good to see the RFL are making full use of Ellery Hanleys talents........:( ,hes doing the C.C. draw tonight at 7 (uk time),only HKR are the onl SL team missing from the draw, whatever happened to giant-killing??
A home draw would be nice for Quins, instead of our annual away draw to Leeds :frown: |

When was the last final without one of the big 4 in it!! Would love to see some of the comments from the anti-expansionists if a Quins-Catalans final came up:p Apparently Rob Purdhams said before the beginning of the season we would get to Wembley for the final, hope hes right.I still have bad dreams about the last one there:o |

Nah........I reckon if we both get through the next round (and you are more likely to than us:eek:) we will draw each other in the next round  Now on to this weekend...................we've got our bogey side.....yep you guessed it bloody Huddersfield at the wonderful Galpharm:eek: stadium. And true to form our speccies are being asked to pay through the nose to sit in a place with as much atmosphere as a sealed biscuit tin:curse: 18.50 it costs to sit miles from the pitch in uncomfy seats. They then have the cheek to charge 3 quid for warm beer in a plastic cup:mad: boy am I glad I'm not there. As if thats not bad enough we've got Bradford on Monday. Ah well never mind its Quins next week:p Loz x |

Re: The Rugby League Thread ...
Tried to listen to Wigan and Saints via BBC local radio ....seems sky sports had other idea's ...got most of the info from wish FM ....a small indi radio station ...
Pains me to say that Saints were by far the better team ...Wigan were competetive and until the last quarter they had a shout ...Saints just had too much pace ... One thing of note ...the amount of times Mathew Gidley was compared to Jamie Lyon ...seems its like comparing Greenhalls to Timmy Taylors :p btw ...if we get a few more positives we'll start the tipsters next weekend |

Re: The Rugby League Thread ...
The ITVN box arrived today  It took 10 minutes to set up ....and hey presto NRL....Newcastle v Melborne live .... not the best game in the world, lots of dropped passes and unforced errors ....but it was league and it was live ...
The quality was very good better than the previous football game from the UK ....I would recommend it to anyone with broadband ... I think Hull and Hull KR are live on Monday ... I know there is another live NRL game Sunday morning |

Just read on BBC Website that a Kiwi Team is trying to join Super League - not sure how that would work exactly

Re: The Rugby League Thread ...
Managed to put together a starting 13 of British players for Quins..
1=Chris Melling 2=Andy Smith 3=Tony Clubb 4=Paul Sykes 5=John Wells 6=Henry Paul (or Joe Walsh if henry not acceptable) 7=Danny Orr 8=David Mill 9-Michael Worrincy 10=Louie McCarthy-Scarsbrook 11=David Toothill 12=Jon Grayshon 13=Rob Purdham (capt) Ok,its a bit of a weak, young and inexperienced side, bit all players have super league experience.I dont think we would frighten too many with that side but definately going in the right direction under Brian Mac and Ian Leneghan |
