Brilliant bicycle kick against Juventus, but how wasn't it a foul for dangerous play? The defender clearly has to pull out of trying to head the ball because of Ronaldo's head-high kick... Awe-struck refereeing?

I disagree.

I watched it live and the player wasn't near him.

Had the player have been near him and committed to head the ball it would have been a foul.

Has a foul ever been given for a overhead kick? You could argue most could be considered as dangerous.

Ibra's response when asked about it is excellent.... "it was a nice goal, maybe he should try it from 40m away"

Player was nowhere near him. I think this goal is overhyped.

Ibra's was much better. Heck even Rooney's vs City was better.

Yes. I've seen fouls given. It's the same law as a high foot.

If the defender had been right up against Ronaldo or indeed committed to heading it and got hit then it would have been a foul.

Rooney's wasn't as good technically as it came off his shin. It was also on a less significant occasion against lesser opposition.

I believe Ibra's was in a friendly although I agree it showed tremendous awareness and timing.

Not when they make contact with the ball.

Rooney's was in the derby. Bigger game in my eyes, although yes he did shin it....he even sent a tweet to Ronaldo after the game saying 'its even harder when you use your shin'....

Wasn't Ibra's against England?

Yeah, Ibra's was. Hart (I think) headered the ball clear, Ibra was running away from goal and went for it.
