I was just taking your cue, you said if I didn't agree you would give up, not as good as your word then.
We're never going to agree, I love what he's done for our club.we were close to going bankrupt, we now have a good team and are moving forward.
If he pisses some Man U fans off on the way even better.

Christmas, Birthday,Easter Bunny and a Pay Rise, all in one night.
"Without winning a trophy, or the lottery, it really could not have got any better for the locals in this corner of the North East. Sunderland stayed up. Well, that was just grand.
But at the same time, Newcastle went down.
It was like having Christmas and your birthday, with a visit from the Easter Bunny thrown in. And maybe a pay rise. Fair to say, there were a lot of happy faces around the Stadium of Light.
Sam Allardyce’s was one, popular and appreciated on Wearside in a way he never was in his old job. Shaking hands with West Ham was the best thing for both parties after all. They have moved on and so has he. They love him up here, singing his name and parading banners of appreciation. They love the way he has saved them, and the way he has doomed their rivals in the process. It is the perfect start, in many ways. Not a trophy, but like a trophy. "
Lots of happy Bunnies here tonight. Don't expect to do a Leicester but for the first time in many years I'm optimistic about reaching the giddy heights of mid table next time around.
Big Sam has restored a passion in both players and fans that's been sadly lacking for a long time.

Congratulations on surviving and happy birthday and merry Christmas

Be interesting to see what Sunderland fans perception of him is after a couple of seasons, his job was survival which for this season was the most that could be expected.
He sees survival and mid table as success though.

It's the present that concerns me - happy to languish if it means Ashley goes. There is nothing to be gained in being "back" when it is an exercise in looking to finish 17th to maintain income.

There's a decent Guardian article about the United Bus fiasco. It basically blames the Police saying there were way too few coppers on duty (less than they would have for a Spurs game) and considering it was the last game ever, against United and with potentially a top 4 space up for grabs they had got it wrong. As such, there were way more ticketless fans they they expected (stupidly) and had waaay too few coppers to control them. Then then blamed WHU for not applying to have the road outside the ground closed as they have done on the majority of games before. Apparently people were questioning this decision at midday. A local said it took he 1hr to do 100m several hours before kick off.

Martinez is gone, right decision really. the lad needs to know how to organise a defense.
