Gutted not because of the result.

The Boleyn is somewhere I've been going to for 40 years gutted I won't go again.

Not to mention no live Pl on Aussie TV next season.

If that was the case it wouldn't be West Ham fans, it would be Roy Keane.

You had 20 shots they had 2 and they lost that is unlucky in LVG land.

But looking on the bright side: Scamp will now have no idea on what Saints have to do to play in Europe next year

Not that it matters anyway they'll be out by July if they do make it.

They have to win at home to Palace, and hope West Ham draw or lose away at Stoke.

Then Southampton will be 6th on goal difference (West Ham draw) or by a point (West Ham lose).

If Utd win the FA Cup, Saints will then get Europa League place.

Can't see us getting anything at Stoke, will be a massive job for Slav to get them up for it after tonight.

They must be completely emotionally drained, I know we are here.

That only applies if City win the CL as well, I think.

UEFA mandate a maximum of 5 clubs from the same league in the CL.

For the PL, it's 1st, 2nd, 3rd + 4th + winner of CL and EL. If both CL and EL are won by PL clubs, then the 4th placed team go into the EL instead.

In the EL, it's normally 5th + winners of the FAC and League Cup.

If one of the CL or EL teams have already qualified for the CL or EL via other means, then an EL spot goes to the 6th-placed team and so on.

CL 1st-4th (+ Liverpool if they win the EL). These are currently Leicester, Spurs, Arsenal and City.

EL 5th-6th Currently Utd and West Ham (if City have already qualified for the CL in 4th. Also 7th-placed (currently Saints) will get if Utd win the FAC.

Apparently the Man U team were requested to get to the ground early by us, and forewarned that they would arrive late because of the congestion caused by thousands of extra pissed up fans running high on emotion.

They chose to ignore the request, leave late then try and drive straight through them, doesn't excuse the behaviour.

But why ignore the warning then ask for extra time to get ready because they were late

Maybe. Still nice to be there isn't it? Oh, sorry.

Bizarre. Either insane or arrogant? I'd be thinking about getting there really really early and asking West Ham for a big area / room for a few hours so the players can relax but in the stadium etc before starting normal prep.

Yes. they were offered this and asked to be there at 4 pm apparently.

Our team got there in time and also commented on the crowds coming in.

Probably explains Sullivan's pissed off demeanor as the club had specifically requested this to prevent a late kick off and being able to have our farewell not be an hour late.

Arrogance or gamesmanship IMHO.
