Great win for Saints yesterday, including Franny Benali's run around at half time - if you haven't seen or heard about this, check it out; Benali needs more money....donate if you can, what he's done is unreal.

Newcastle are an utter joke. Moyes is a good shout, Pardew's 7yr contract is irrelevant, they only have to pay off about 6 months of it and basic is small with huge bonuses pegged. So the head-butting **** can rot in some shit club on a temporary basis for all I care. I know, let the bellend manage Leeds. Hahahahahaha. Twat.
The Saints sacked Pardew for non footballing reasons allegedly. Pretty crap manager as well!

As for Moyes, the first manager after Ferg was always going to be pissing in the wind. Basically I think he's a good manager - especially on limited resources.

No allegedly about it. He nailed Fonte's mrs and the senior players refused to play for him.

Moyes would be good for Newcastle. Fellaini would look nice in stripes. Like a humbug.

I would be happy with Moyes. But that would make sense, so it won't happen. Rumour is Bruce...

Your thoughts, ed? Have to say I am delighted we have signed Daley Blind- yesterday showcased just what a valuable player he will be for us, neat and tidy, linked the defence and midfield together, and an eye for a chance too- Falcao probably should have made it 5-0 from Green's spill of Blind's effort near the end.

QPR are dreadful, and better sides will cause our defence problems, but it was lovely to finally get the season 'up & running' properly. di Maria was excellent, running with pace & purpose, and the lad has great vision for through balls.

I thought we looked grand - but it was the worst away team performance since Arsenal at OT 3 years ago. Next month is a tough one but we have some easy games to bed it all in before then. I thought RVP looked sluggish and think Falcao will start next week - his days could be numbered (sadly). I know LVG loves him but he's been poor this season. Very happy so far but a long way to go.

You know you can't buy any more strikers too? Or will Lambert adequately replace Suarez? They're very similar players.

Seriously - I think we'll be ok. Blind looks very strong, and Rojo and Shaw will help Evans and Smalling learn how to calm the **** down which has been their big problem when facing fast, strong strikers (like Lambert )

Blind I think could be the buy of the season if he keeps that level of performance - this year's Fernandinho maybe?

Evans is a decent player and Smalling has everything he needs to be quality but he needs to step up. Rojo looked ok to me. I think the QPR game should have finished 6-2 if forwards at both ends of the pitch had not panicked and mucked up easy chances.

If you can get a formation that doesn't involve either Rafael or Jones impersonating (very badly) defenders you will do OK this year.

And interesting stat of the week:

City starting XI at weekend cost £154.95 , United £228.8m
Chelsea's cost £186m while Swansea's was just £24.18m
Arsenal £131.7m, Liverpool £144.5m and Tottenham's cost £98.8m
•But Mario Balotelli cost 16m i.e. 2.4 million more than the Aston Villa starting line-up who cost just £13.6m

Yup - that's 5 years of underinvesting and not developing youth for you.

No my point was more that Balotelli cost more than Aston villa and look how that turned out.

We all knew Utd were going to spend massively to buy the title back that was a given.

How do you think I feel? We played against 9 men the whole game and finished with a draw (well actually 9 players + Ozil and Welbeck so 9.2 then)

Oh, pot, kettle & noir.....

As ed has pointed out, United have MASSIVELY under-invested in the squad for YEARS (SAF, being a genius, was able to prise title-winning performances from some players who have subsequently been shown to be anything but title-winning quality... ) so we have a bit of 'catch up' to do compared with citeh, Chelsea, Spurs and the dippers.

Anyway, have I said that I 'love' (in a VERY non-gay, gender-bending way!!) Daley Blind...??!! Easily our best signing of the window, and the textbook definition of a 'steal'- we robbed Ajax at 14m!!

QPR are utter dung, yet could and should have scored 3 goals, and THAT is why we won't feature in the title race this year. The Chavs are awesome- they allowed Swansea to boss the game for the first half-hour, then moved up a gear and blew them away. I can't even see citeh getting close to them this season, though next weekend's game at Middle-Eastlands will be very interesting indeed- I'd suggest citeh need Yaya Toure back to give themselves a chance of winning the midfield battle, as Matic looks like a colossus in there for Mourinho....

The only thing keeping my spirits up this season is the fact that Ozil continues to be absolute poop!

BTW I have admitted we bought the title and I predicted you would buy it back no pot kettle there my friend.

I think Chelsea look the best team by a distance so far this year and would be very surprised if they don't win the title by a country mile. Matic and Costa are 2 excellent players to complement what they already had so despise him or loathe him - muppetrinho has bought well and will triumph.
