Spurs friend of mine described the Falcao transfer thus: 'Falcao to Man U is like giving a heart patient a new pair of tits.'

I'm still VERY, VERY worried about our defence, and I have to admit that (despite the hope engendered by the arrival of the attacking players) I think we will bitterly regret not going after a genuine world-class centre-half during this window. It's all fine & dandy having players like Falcao and di Maria who can 'score goals out of nothing', but if your defence can't stop leaking goals like a sieve down the other end, all Falcao's genius will count for little....

I fully expect Daley Blind to be the best signing we have made during this window, and it's the young Dutchman who REALLY excites me- this lad is so versatile that he makes Phil Neville look like a 'one position' player by comparison, and he will prove a snip at 14 million.

So, bring it on. One thing you can't accuse this season of being is 'dull'.

Your season doesn't rest on those shoulders.

It's on a back 3; Jones, Evans and Blackett.

That's like having; a spastic, a talentless spastic and a rabbit between headlights.

Still, I'm excited to see Falcao and Di Maria in the Prem so thanks to United for that!

As stated, I said the team looks better on paper. I didn't say we didn't get rid of all the dead weight, and I even said that the squad still looks imbalanced.

Our problem this season hasn't been defending (although we've not played anyone with a Dzeko or a Sturridge to be fair). It's been in the middle, out wide and up front. As long as we can beat all those teams from 4th down, we can build. I still find it funny that people are bemoaning the loss of Welbeck - he was awful. Maybe 3 good games that I can remember.

And I think Rojo, Shaw and one of the others you mention should be ok.

Don't understand the losing identity because we sold Welbeck. He was my least favourite player in the squad. Glad he's gone, and for a good price as well. Seriously, if Welbeck is part of the identity, then good riddance!

Did we lose our identity when we sold Luke Chadwick! Or Phil Neville!

And all this talk of home grown talent, well there hasn't been many since the class of 92.

And it's not like we haven't bought big before - Ferdinand, Veron, Berbatov etc.

Although, the amount of buying in such a short space of time does indicate a sense of panic buy. It signals we really need to make the champions league (obviously).

And I do agree that when we bought before, we had a better foundation in regards to the squad.

I just noticed (not being a frequent visitor) that on manutd.com Man U are not even in the section of league they display.

Fixtures & Results - Official Manchester United Website

On the other hand, looks like Di Maria had a blinder against Germany.

Personally I'd want shootin' if I was caught on the Liverpool official website....

As for di Maria, let's see him put on a few displays in the red shirt, then we can extol his virtues...

But he was playing with Aguero, Mascherano, and Zabaleta, rather than Jones, Young and Rooney.

So, England play tonight. Probably 22:45/23:00 local time for me.

Am I staying up to watch it? Am I ****.

International breaks should not come so early in the season when I'm so excited about football again.

Wankers.

Everyone involved in writing, producing, filming, acting, watching 'Corrie' should be injected with ebola and shipped to the Isle of Wight to live amongst the freaks.

You're a Saints supporter, ergo clearly have mental problems, so I'll let this obscene comment slide on this occasion.

Let it slide? What's to let slide? People on the Isle of Wight are well known weirdos.
