I don't remember completely slating him, maybe in the heat of the moment....but what I and other Saints fans are forgetting is that we signed him 6 years ago for 1.2m....in the Championship. He then went to League 1 with us and back up.

If he wants to leave in January or Summer for 25m+ to Arsenal, I'd let him. He's done a great job for us and we might finally get to see Jack Cork come through.

Ballsy move by United, looks like they've given up on defending and will play with 11 attackers.

You missed out Anderson.

Anyone want Welbeck? He's gotta be worth £20m at today's prices.

It's not going to be dull, unlike the first 3 games. Kagawa and Hernandez both gone, without really doing too much wrong - yet Anderson and Welbeck still around, despite being hopeless.

This still doesn't feel right. We've spent more in 18 months than Fergie spent in the last 12 years. Lucky we're not in debt.

Bet Dwight Gayle scores more than him this year.... Does that make DG worth 21 Mill then ?

Palace in a catch 22 situation now, Stay up and they keep Warnock, very likely to happen now. Although he is a popular-ish choice amongst the fans, they aren't exactly looking forwards to mid table medocrity combined with long ball. Go down and they would probably entice a fiercly loyal Tony Popovic, who has the makings of a very very very very good manager.

Very quiet in here for transfer deadline day, can't help but wonder if it's linked to the fact several celebrities have got their bits posted all over the internet.

I honestly got bored of looking, I didn't really know who the celebrities are so couldn't tell if the person I was looking at was a celebrity or a porn star. The only people I recognised were Victoria Justice, Jack's Daughter from 24, Kirsten Dunst, Kate Upton and Jennifer Lawrence. Not that I've been looking

Ahh Kirsten Dunst, runner up to Sarah Jessica Parker in the hot body wierd face championships last year. May require a quick look, if just out of curiosity

Danny Welbeck injured already then. It will be interesting to see how well he does in comparison to Balotelli this season, both cost 16 million and if rumours are to be believed Arsenal rejected the chance to buy Balotelli.

A quote from the BBC comments section on this caught my eye:
Man utd don't sell to there rivals, thats why Wellbeck was sold to Arsenal and not Burnley, QPR, or Leicester.

Sad to see Hernandez go, and I though Kagawa never really got a decent chance. Still, Falcao is a pretty decent loan replacement! A ridiculously expensive one mind you.

Delighted we got rid of Welbeck, and for 16 million as well! He's got spaghetti legs, and is woefully off target most of the time. Seems to be mixed responses from Arsenal fans. But then a load of people seem to think Podolski is some sort of championship player for some reason.

Really stoked the Blind transfer went through. The Falcao loan overshadowed it, but this one could be more important. Still feel we are imbalanced, but when you look at the ins and outs, on paper we look way better.

Really?

I'm not sure you do look much better than you did before. The only addition of REAL worth is Blind, but if LVG insists on a 3-5-2 then you needed 3 very good central defenders. You bought one utility man.

I'd be shitting bricks if I was a united fan.

Oh, whatever. Nani, Cleverley, Welbeck gone, Falcao, Blind, Herrera, Di Maria in - and we're not better?

Oh, you were being sarcastic. Notice I didn't mention our overpriced fat new left back...

A little bell went on my head when you said that.... I'll look up the fixtures list.

There it was.... 3rd game from the end of the season will seal our fates. Looks like your going down to me

Pity it's not the last dammit.... But hell your going to get freaked out. Looks like Liverpool will miss out on winning the title again, and Swansea wont be going to Europe.

Ummm, ok. Medication wearing off already?

Anyway - normally can't stand this journo, hate his paper - but this sums up how I feel about this sunmer's transfers nicely:

Man United's Radamel Falcao transfer shows they have panicked and joined in the rich clubs' lucky dip - Oliver Holt - Mirror Online
