Hey Man United - why not buy Alex Song from Barcelona? He's better than almost the entire midfield you have, is definitely available, would be dirt cheap and had an almost telepathic understanding with RVP for 18 months at Arsenal. Because all that wank about getting Hummels or Reus is not going to happen. Not this year. I bet he'd be available for single figures and slot right in. Mind you Xabi Alonso would have - quite why Real insist on selling their best, most important midfielder every year beggars belief.
I bet Agger is regretting his knuckle tattoo now. I'd post a pic but I'm watching the 6 pointer that is Burnley v the People's champions so can't be arsed. It's worth googling if you haven't see it.

And agree about Song - and Alonso. Just watched Phil Jones fall into a Burnley player under the guise of a cultured defender. He has the turning circle and delicate touch of an oil tanker. 90 seconds gone and we're lucky it's still 0-0.

Totally agree with everything you've said, ed. Delighted to get Blind, who I think will prove to be a smashing player for us, but just why we haven't successfully got in a commanding, experienced centre-half staggers belief, and if indeed Blind is the last signing of the summer, we can kiss our chances of CL football next season good-bye... There is some media talk of William Carvalho coming from Portugal, but I haven't seen enough of him to make a judgement.

0-0 at Turf Moor is an all too accurate indication of where we are right now, and I agree that SAF has let us down badly by not insisting that Gill remain in place for a season after his retirement to oversee Woodward's training into a role that he clearly struggles in. Unless we get a world-class CB in, I think LvG may have to abandon 3-5-2 sooner rather than later, as I cannot see how we can hope to succeed against the likes of Chelsea and citeh with 3 young lads who clearly cannot cope in that formation....

Cheers to Sparky for a great result at citeh that means we can still dream of making a challenge for the title, though dream is all it will remain this year...too many 'round pegs' for square holes.

Big win for Saints, away at the Hammers. Glad to see we basically dominated the entire game and Big Sam said we taught them a lesson.

Even happier that we scored 3 goals. Yes they were all a bit scrappy but it's ****ing goals and they came from pressure.

Top 6. Boom.

Hang on a second. Last week without that donkey up front you lot were the Barcelona of mid-table mediocrity...just because you got dominated at home harder than Millwall dominate you out the park, don't get all defeatist.

Not getting defeatist at all mate, we dominated a second rate team last week, as did you lot this week. Neither worth writing home about.

I don't think you're that bad actually. I think you, Swansea, Newcastle, us and Man U will be fighting for the 'best of the rest' award.

Still, you're paying Villa £8m to take Cleverly - best bit of business this window for you.

Still hate old Schneidlerlin? See he's fully committed to SFC - until Monday, anyway.

Although I have to admit we were outclassed once again by Liverpool, I must ask who shot Joe Allen to make him go down like that? If that had been Ashley Young or Gareth Bale he would have been booked for diving and the pen would not have stood.

But yes, Liverpool deserved the win, I think the key thing was pace, they have tons, we have none, they let us play with the ball, knock it around and then caught us on the counter.

Poch needs to address the pace issue, we used to thrive on super sonic wingers and full backs, now we look very sluggish on the break.

Nice win for Liverpool. The new faces are settling in nicely. Balotelli looked very busy but pish at shooting. And that Joe Allen dive was criminal.

The Chelsea/Everton game was phenomenal. Costa, Matic and Fabregas look shit hot. And Ibranovic may be the best player in the league so far this year -he's ****ing colossal. And its sad that Jagielka and Distin are so awful because I'd have every other Everton player in my squad. They play quickly, neatly and fearlessly. Altho Lukaku looked wank yesterday.

Arsenal need to put Sanogo out of his misery. Utterly dreadful player.
