I can see Rooney, SWP, Knight and Cole (he's far right). Which one is Stephen Ireland?

White guy on the left who looks like he'd be at home on Jersey Shore.

So, UEFA have announced the players / squad of the tournament.

Goalkeepers: Buffon (Ita), Casillas (Spa), Neuer (Ger).

Defenders: Pique (Spa), Coentrao (Por), Lahm (Ger), Pepe (Por), Ramos (Spa), Alba (Spa).

Midfielders: De Rossi (Ita), Gerrard (Eng), Xavi (Spa), Iniesta (Spa), Khedira (Ger), Busquets (Spa), Ozil (Ger), Pirlo (Ita), Xabi Alonso (Spa).

Forwards: Balotelli (Ita), Fabregas (Spa), Ronaldo (Por), Ibrahimovic (Swe), Silva (Spa).

10 Spaniards - not surprising. The inclusion of any Englishmen at all certainly was....Gerrard?

The bloke on the right with the daft hat must be Rooney's fitness coach - more pie and mash fat boy?

What a tit.

Gerrard no, but thought Johnson had a pretty good tournament, even managing some defending

I heard Gab Marcotti talk about the Johnson thing and explained how it is a bit odd. I thought Johnson had a decent tournament. Then Marcotti explained that defensive coaches would be beating themselves because three goals scored against England were directly due to Johnson being out of position/losing a player. Now Marcotti is a pompous twunt but he makes a point of some sort - that being if the goal had been given for Ukraine and England went out then nobody would be seeing any positives.

Not saying I buy it but there we are.

Can see his point but then again Johnson made several saving tackles because someone else was out of position. Hopefully Roy will now start replacing the rest of the old guard throughout the WC qualifiers.

Just a shame I'll be in the wrong bleedin timezone when they start

So, England are up to 4th in the world in the FIFA rankings. We are better than Portugal, Brazil, Argentina, Holland and Italy.

Of course we are

We didn't lose as many competetive matches as the Dutch, Portuguese, or Italians outright. Not that that counts for anything in the real world.
