My mum used to live in Addlestone which was nice - but you get zip for your money. We really like Sandhurst / Owlsmoor - schools are terrific, good commuting time and decent houses in our price range. It’s close to Broadmoor too, so I can visit you lot when you finally get committed.

Ah, just realised you would be working in Chiswick and not central London, Hertfordshire is probably out then. Agree with James about Bracknell and Reading, steer clear.

We visited Bracknell the other week - they’ve completely renovated the town centre, but it did feel quite chavvy. Herts is too far out.

Thanks for for all the suggestions. Appreciate it.

I see Arsenal have appointed Dick Emery as manager? A specialist in finishing 4th. He’ll fit right in.

CL final. The Dippers have 15,000 tickets allocated in a stadium that holds 63,000. That’s obscene. UEFA really are a bunch of freeloading despicable *****.

That really is coming into my part of the world. I played 5 aside for a number of years at Frogmore Leisure centre. That astro turf has been responsible for buckling many people although they may have upgraded it in the last 10 years.

The nice thing with Sandhurst is you can get to Reading for shopping easily and you have decent access to the M3 and M4. I'm not familiar with many of the pubs up there. I do sporadically get to Farnborough on the odd trip home.

With regards to Arsenal I think it's an ok appointment. They wanted change and I think it's a safer pair of gloves than Arteta. It'll be interesting to see how much patience the fans have as it doesn't look like there is going to be any dramatic investment in the squad so some careful wheeling and dealing will need to be done.

He's got to be a better option than the 2 unproven ex-players that were banded around. I cringe when people say they want Gerrard to be our manager, he's done nothing in management and could well be utter shite, the last thing we need is another Souness.

It's insane, you just have to look on Youtube and see all these people vlogging the matches that are there just for the experience rather than actually supporting either team, the fact that less than half of the stadium will have actual fans in it will destroy the atmosphere that all these pricks are hoping to experience. I've also seen that some people are trying to sell a final ticket for 14 grand, I'd expect to be in the starting line-up if I paid that much.

UEFA, a bunch of runts...plus ca change? Always were, always will be. Much like their cohorts in FIFA, the fans don't matter at all to the pricks.

Just about recovered from my weekend voyage across North Texas to Dallas, to watch United fart around in the Wembley sunshine and still lose to a Chavs side that were set up from the outset to 'out Mourinho Mourinho' (how else to explain the hideous Bakayoko (a poor man's Kante) playing instead of Willian...??!). Joined up with the Dallas Reds, had about 400 people in the bar, it was great until someone decided to start a football match....(if it could be called that).

I see Martinez is proving again what a cretin he is...either that, or he thinks he has enough in the squad without Nainggolan to still make at least the Semi-Finals....

Martinez is a genius. I say this because I drew Belgium in the sweepstake at work. I also drew Uruguay, which means being positive about Suarez.

UEFA distribute quite a few tickets by some lottery. I had a mate in Canada win a pair a few years ago when the final was at Wembley. He went as a fan of football but didn't support either team. Most people I'm sure enter the lottery and if they win flog them for thousands of dollars.

It's unfortunate for Liverpool- especially the season ticket holders who fork out every year but unfortunately fans were long abandoned by clubs and associations in these situations and it's not just exclusive to football sadly.

A team with De Bruyne and Hazard should be favourites for the World Cup before you look at the quality defenders and the supporting cast that are also exceptional.

I think Germany and Spain the obvious other European contenders.

I don't think the South American's will fancy the conditions in Russia at all.

Why would he want to get sacked? Managing Spurs is a cushy job, they never expect to win anything anyway.

Just sell us Alderweireld for less than £50m, and you can do whatever you want to stay ahead of the Emeryates....:sneaky:

As usual, if all the "rumours" are true, United will own half the players going to Russia by next month....though Fred seems to be a done deal, which should be a good start.

Poch has got what he was fishing for with his "me or some other manager" comments after the FA Cup Semi-Final...a big, shiny new deal from Levy with a £50/week pay rise, with a packet of Rolos thrown in if he manages to finish top 4 next year... :p

Re: British football thread 2017-2018

Yup.

The deal locks Poch in so when Madrid come sniffing we get a cool pay off in a year or so.

I heard Alderweireld is going to United for £75 million.

He wants a 5 year deal and is 30 so best of luck to you.

I heard £50 million, and as a centre-back (a position where pace isn't as essential as in several other areas of the pitch) with top-level experience, if he wants 5 years, I'd give him 4 with the Club holding the option for the final year. He'll take it. We need an experienced leader back there, and Alderweireld fits the bill. Happy if he signs up.

So a bunch of supporters who have spent years mocking United by taking the piss out of a plane that didn’t take off have spent thousands of pounds and now can’t get to Kiev because their planes won’t take off.

Queue lots of compo-faced Scousers crying on TV. Utterly hilarious.

Fingers crossed Madrid only win by 8 or 9 tonight.
