Similar defending to tonight. All that money on full-backs and keepers and you’re letting an Arsenal reject smash one past you.

Fraudiola alive and well... Seville would beat either of these teams.

A long way to go.

City were marginally unlucky as Salah was as offside on the first goal as the City player was when they had the disallowed goal with 5 minutes to go.

2-0 or 3-1 would have been the score with the great VAR.

Kyle Walker at 50 million was always an excessive buy. Perhaps City will come in and buy Alderweireld for 75 million in the summer?

Madrid, Bayern and Barca will all be hoping for the winner of this one.

Madrid to lift the Champions League again despite Tottenham besting them over two games. Champions of Europe with an asterisk.

The players were probably traumatised after having to travel through a war-zone to get to the ground.

That was always going to happen, there were too many people egging the fans on to give City an intimidating welcome and then they always threw "But don't do anything illegal" at the end. Telling scousers not to do anything illegal is like telling Joey Barton not to talk shit, he's gonna talk shit regardless.

Yeah that's embarrassing. I remember Liverpool being heavily involved in English clubs being kicked out of Europe before.

Thankfully it's another English club so will draw less attention.

It's pretty stupid of whoever was involved, it just gives rags like The Sun ammo to use against them.

In other news Daniel Levy apparently earns more than any Spurs player, I guess the less he pays them the better the job he's doing so he deserves more. I imagine that will piss a few players off though.

There was talk of the Police bringing in a water cannon to disperse the crowds...... but Jamie Carragher wasn't available at the time......

Liverpool were super quick to drag out the "it wasn't our fault" and "we're also so appalled" defense.... to the point of Klipperty even making a statement before the game. Top marks to their PR department, it seems practice does make perfect.

Great result though! Seems like Liverpool may have done United a huge favour by ensuring Pep has to field a weakened team at the weekend... the league is won no matter what but the CL is hanging in the balance with no away goal.

I can't see past a City victory.

I just don't see a Mourinho team showing the same energy that Liverpool's midfield showed during the week.

It's more a question of how big the margin will be.

It’s currently 4 points. Boring United are 2nd. Rampant, all-conquering Spurs are 4th.

Mind the gap.

2nd is the new 1st. You can't even claim Spurs' "Putting pressure on" trophy.

Top of the “not breaking the FFP or doping our players” league. I’ll have that. 2nd after what we’ve had to endure is progress enough. When we sign Messi and Ronaldo, we’ll be top. Knowing United we’ll end up with Bale and Wilshire. :(

Everton did us a favour this morning.

We need to break down Stoke now!

Spurs did us the bigger favour by beating Chelsea, if they hadn't we'd have had to win the Everton match which at the moment we don't have the squad depth to do without risking our chances against City. Nice to see Clyne and Klavan back though, no clue how they did as like most people I didn't watch the game. Neither Liverpool or Everton fans seemed to give a shit about this match and with 0 yellow cards shown I don't think either set of players did either.

Say what you like about Spurs, at least we can say we'll never sink as low as West Ham and their disgusting fans.

Anyway, what a nice change to have a warm, sunny afternoon in the stands and not be freezing your tits off. The Cherries did their usual of going behind and leaving it late to come back. Another season in the prem all but guaranteed but a few players looking like they've had their day, Hope they get a bit of cash to splash over the summer.

Another 3 points for Spurs, didn't see the game but hear Stoke made it tough, just need Man U to lose and we're still be in the running for the 'putting pressure on' shield :p

It was very nervy. The final 15 minutes was all Stoke and they hit the bar and believe it or not ballsed up when they had 5 players go through on Lloris and Sanches alone.

Danny Rose took a kicking from them the whole game and did well to keep his head.

Stoke's fans were loud and intimidating.

Definitely a tougher game and crowd than Stamford Bridge provided last week so 3 points well earned. 2 more wins should wrap up our Champions League spot.

I have several bets in play with Liverpool fans about finishing higher than them so that's all I care about in the league now

Apart of me wants Liverpool to get past City for the reason of Premier League squad rotation.

3 chances clinically taken.

Sterling passes, dribbles and creates but yes it doesn't look like you want him shooting. Gareth Southgate take note!
