Still no announcement from the club yet there's reports he's been sacked. This is just like when they sacked Moyes

****ing Norwich. I mean, with the greatest of respect, we should have been out of sight by half time.

Two golakeeping howlers and then some of the worst substitutions known to man. Ralph might be cool and get all emotional, but he honestly has some of the worst sub-making traits I've ever seen in a manager. Norwich deserved it in the second half.

United should have sacked the PE Teacher months ago. It's embarrassing. They're the new Liverpool.

Bye, bye, bye, Olé-lé.

Forgive me Man U, I just cannot do anymore...

But seriously, a bunch of highly-paid, egotistical assholes have caused much of the club's recent problems. Olé's problem is that he was too nice to put players in their place like SAF would have.

I doubt SAF would have lasted a year with Woodward at the helm.......

I doubt the Glazers and Woodward would have been there in 2005 if SAF had stayed as manager.

Woodward should be walking out with him. Heard some stats;

Woodward has spent a billion since SAF
Had Xno managers
Spent 40m on severance packages for the managers (not including OGS)
Top four 3 times since SAF
Two trophies as well.

Unreal what the man has done to that club.

Woodward announced in April that he'd be leaving Utd at the end of this year, so I don't think he's had any incentive to give a shit anymore since then.... But there's a silver lining

Ed Woodward: Manchester United executive vice-chairman could delay departure to help appoint new manager

Whoever comes in to the role of interim manager, they will be expected to work with the existing coaching and support staff. As things stand, it will only be in the summer, when there is a more rigorous overhaul of Manchester United's football operation, when the new long-term manager will be confirmed.
So whoever initially replaces Olé is still going to be at the mercy of the dressing room.

Well he might just do the minor tinkering that could make a world of difference.

I mean over the last couple of weeks there have been some rumblings of discontent. Players feeling van de Beek is hard done by; why Lingard not given more time; Bailly complaining of unfit Maguire playing; Solskjaer's favourites - likely the inept for years Martial.

They are still the same players who came second in the league last season and only lost a Europa final on penalties 11-10. Remember too that it was only Solskjaer's lack of knowhow that cost them a place in the Champions League knockouts when they were in that tough group with Leipzig and PSG. Having expected to fail, they were one result from qualifying when they were surprisingly well placed. And they are still very well placed in the CL now. They can lose today and qualify with a win at home to Young Boys.

So much points to the players being very good but short of the right coaching and tactical awareness.

So...maybe Carrick has voiced his opinions on these matters but has simply been overruled.

We'll see. But it's only likely to be a match or two anyway.

BristolUK's response was very reasonable, but I suspect cost is also a factor. And control.

Carrick's already employed by the club, who have already said there'll be no changes in backroom staff under the temporary manager and Carrick is unlikely to be getting any (or much of an) increase in pay for rhe additional responsibilities. I also suspect Carrick will be very closely watched and tightly controlled by the likes of Woodward, limitations an outside temporary manager probably wouldn't want.

Tough group with those 2??? Naw - easy enough to top the group with a game to spare

All likely to top their group too.
One is likely to get PSG while someone else gets Red Bull, Sporting or Benfica (or Barca)

Barcelona look good for parachuting into the Europa but the curse of Béla Guttmann will probably save them.
