Big risk on both sides. Not sure what they expect him to do with a team that relied so heavily on one player who then got sold. Still it will give us a better idea of if he can actually manage in the Premier League.

He might do okay if the owners let him do his thing. Villa have Martinez, Ings and a couple of okay defenders. If they can get a couple of decent players in January, mid-table is a given..... :p

Harry Kane defends brother over handling of failed Man City move as he reflects on difficult summer with England

His brother Charlie is his agent and was roundly criticised for his handling of a potential move to join reigning champions City.

Currently streaming a women's college play-off semi-final game in the NWAC league (North West [USA] Athletic Conference, Washington and Oregon)
Bloody $10.00 to stream ($17.00 for a live ticket, the kid has gone to watch live)
We know a few coaches at this local college soccer level, its always surprisingly fun when you are cheering a team along because you actually know someone involved.
It is Columbia Basin College vs. Peninsula College, we know the coach on both teams, but cheering for Columbia. 1 - 0 to Columbia at half-time.

Just mental though.

150m in fee
300k a week? let's say 4yr contract = 62.4m quid
+ add ons and bits and bobs, let's pretend another 20m in 'guff'.

It's a 232.4m deal.

Letting someone who's probably not the best qualified to handle a transaction like that is like asking me to build a hospital with the money.

If only we knew of a manager or two who don't mind dodgy transfer dealings....

Unfortunately, it's where those Mendes type characters are worth their weight in bitcoin. They're obviously very good at bleeding money out of clubs for talent.

Dear Scamp
Thank you for your interest in the proposed new hospital.
In anticipation of your more detailed bid (nudge-nudge, wink-wink) please find enclosed first payment of £232.4m.
Signed Boris

Tory donor contracting 101..

There's a tender with 2 bids.
A Tory party donor says he can get it done for £200 billion.
The other guy says he can do it for £100 billion.
The person at the top of the tendering process asks why the first bid is double that of the second.
"That's easy," says the Tory, "you give me the contract, I hire the other guy to build it for his price, and we split the difference!"

Contract signed for £200 million.
