It was so obvious an answer (to those of a certain age) I didn't feel it worth a mention so I made my own joke out of it.

I laughed out loud when that happened. It's payback for that fiasco in the cup match when he wouldn't come off.

well reasonable start to the season that missing Laporte, Agueroooooo and Gundogan to the virus.

Felt for Patricio who having made a world class save from Jesus gets done by a deflection 30 secs later.

Jiminez is a born poacher one chance one goal whilst the other Wolves players were wasteful.

Looks like Bobby Duncan is off to Derby after he forced a move to Fiorentina claiming Liverpool were mentally bullying him by not giving him first team football, turns out he wasn't good enough to get first team football there either. He's changed agents again as well.

Yeah he played the same trick at Citeh as we had him from age 11 to 17 and then he went to Liverpool claiming he was being denied first team games at 17.. .. good talent but will waste it like Ravel Morrison he had the worst attitude of any kid in the Academy since Daniel Sturridge... shame he won't ever turn his potential into talent.

At least at Derby, he can learn how to grab-a-granny.....

Where is Scamp, I need to gloat? Son and Kane were fantastic, not sure we really need Gareth now, but I guess we'll be able to squeeze in him into our first 11 somewhere. Oh and someone needs to sort that handball rule, whilst the human body still has arms these 'handballs' are going to occur in nearly every match.

Looks like COVID is ramping up again and the plans to allow the partial opening of stadiums to fans has been put on hold, God I miss going to football....

Utterly stupid.
I was just reading about the positive covid tests at West Ham. I think it has been remarkable that the elite divisions of Italy, Germany, Spain and England were all able to complete the 2019-20 seasons, with all the bubbling and protocols and not a single positive test.

Now I read that the protocols in place for the Premier League are not the same as for the rest of the football league, which just seems daft given that clubs from both leagues are currently playing each other. Of course it's ironic that it's a Premier League club that had a couple of positive tests among the players plus their manager. But West Ham offered to pay for tests for their opponents who declined because
We didn’t want to create anything,” Grant McCann, Hull’s manager, said. “We are comfortable we were following the guidelines in and around the club. We decided against it, we felt we were fine. No one is showing any symptoms or anything like that. We always monitor the players’ wellbeing
"None of the players are showing symptoms." Er...have they not informed themselves about covid?

I also read that Spurs paid for their (football league) opponents to have tests and the majority of their squad had positive results. The majority.

If Orient had turned down the offer as Hull did the match would have gone ahead with Spurs players and the officials, let's not forget them, all in potential close contact and the majority of their opponents having covid.

Of course you're not necessarily going to get it 'just because' but grappling players bunched up at corners and free kicks, players in each others faces, shouting and occasionally literally going head to head in moments of lost tempers are all common situations where covid might be transmitted.

That it hasn't happened in the elite divisions is testament to how well they've been doing things. West Ham accepted, of course. But it's still only 2 players compared to the majority of the squad at Orient.

Hi bristol ,there was a big debate on talksport radio last week which was very interesting and got quite lively. The main reason lower league clubs stopped testing is because they can't afford it 150 pounds i think, and they can't book a government free test.the efl asked the pfa the fa and premier league for help which was ignored. If the cash mountain they pfa,fa,prem don't pass some of it down the line some of these clubs will go bust,i do hope they help them.I also think if a premier club are drawn against a lower league club they should pay for the test as goodwill.Football would not be the same without them after all most of us came from the lower leagues even the so called big clubs. And this is what make british football the best in the world.
