What would that technical sense be?

It was Woolwich Arsenal Football club which was relegated; not Arsenal F.C.

It's the same club, a name alteration doesn't change that. Ditto Man U, Man City, Bournemouth, Brighton, Everton, Burnley, Leicester, Newcastle, Southampton, Tottenham, Watford, West Ham and the Wolves.

You are wrong. It is a different club, by definition. Hard to accept you are wrong but can't change facts.

And Bristol City (1982) as opposed to Bristol City  miraculously having the same squad of players, home stadium and all the rest of it but apparently a different club.

What technical issue made them different entities?

Like I said, happy to be corrected, especially when sources are given.

And though Companies House claims not to verify information, I'm pretty sure they'd be on the case if the paperwork for a company was wrong.

Well regardless of whether you are called Arsenal FC or Woolwich Arsenal that really isn't good enough from a big team at home - Citeh very poor but won easily. The Foden goal was assuredly offside though and how you can risk 2 walking red cards like Ceballos and Gabriel in the same team amazes me.

another semi final so very happy
