In todays game James is a bargain at 15 million. Hell if Yernited were looking for a new teal lady or groundskeeper we would be quoted fees of 20 million to get Mavis as the tea lady or 25 million for Hamish plus a guaranteed new John Deere mowers every year. Anybody else think Longstaff is worth 50 million?

You can't believe sites like that. According to that VVD was worth 27M when we bought him but is now worth 81M, he hasn't improved THAT much so obviously he was worth more than 27M.

He's decent and could be a good one for the future but still some development left, scored a few in his only season for the first team after a great season for the Primavera the year before. Good buy but more an Erikssen replacement methinks

watched 2 games on the ferry to Amsterdam.

Firstly Wolves spanked a very poor Newcastle - it's gonna be a long season if they play like that Wheezey....

Citeh then played Wet Spam with 5 youth team kids and Clownio Bravo against a full team. Rodri looked decent and played over an hour, Angelino was slow and suspect (not sure he's improved since we sold him) and the kids had some great moments particularly Bernabe. Spam went for extreme violence at the back followed by quick breaks, which will do them ok in the PL but they might pick up a few more reds in a competitive game. Spam even took the lead but Citeh stepped up after that and was comfortable 4 1 winners.

Citeh vs Wolves next and that will be a bigger challenge methinks

He's certainly our most defensive right back but personally I prefer that the defenders defend and leave the attacking to the attack. I was quite disappointed when he left and we did need him really for a few weeks when Gomez and TAA were injured so I'd be happy for him to stay but looks like Palace are interested in him now.

But he was actually pretty useful in attack anyway and, unlike that clown Kyle Walker, he could defend.
