Default Connecting photo SD card to iPhone

I have just ordered a Wolverine Titan digital slide converter. I want to use this unit to put my slides on SD card then transfer to my iPhone. Can I buy a apple SD card connector to plug into my phone then use the phones built in photo app? My phone is a Apple SE with the latest iOS upgrade (13.1) The slide converter is a stand alone unit that will also allow me to view the converted slides on my tv using HMDI port.
Thanks

Personally I've never tried it but it sounds like it should work.

I have everything on order and will post my experience in case anyone thinking of same thing. I pulled out my old Kodak carousel projector and it no longer works due to a common problem of disintegrated drive gears.

Regardless of the connection issue..do you have a PC of some kind or a Tablet computer?
The problem with slides is quite often dust and/or moisture or even the occasional fingerprint, especially if they have been stored for some time.
Editing on an iphone will work, but how larger the screen, how better you can eliminate imperfections and end up with a great digital copy that is viewable on any medium and produces good prints.

Don't be afraid to experiment with settings.

Slide scanners differ enormously. Even scanning with a modern one powered by LED, a considerable amount of correction will be required to get a good result using a photo editor.

Good luck.
