There doesn't appear to be a jimmybuk and the little link doesn't link to anything.

A big problem is that VPN is becoming more popular as they are incorrectly marketed as a way to protect your privacy. There are easy work-arounds and hence the ability of content providers to block them quite easily.

Haven't read the whole thread so this may have been mentioned, but I use ExpressVPN and it works like a charm.
ExpressVPN + BBC iPlayer on iPad > Airplay to AppleTV. Been enjoying catching up with The Great British Menu lately.

Got a chuckle when my girlfriend said UK Masterchef was "weird, because everyone is nice to each other". Commentary on US vs UK personalities right there folks

It's been a while since Beebs or Beebs Premium (both free on Opera/Chrome) worked for iPlayer. Ditto for free Hoxx which also appears not to work for ITV anymore as well.

Fortunately there are still alternatives, some of them legit too

Still working, but seems to be having more problems lately.
Generally, it connects and quality is good. Sometimes it will just crap out for no reason and I have to reconnect VPN and restart the app.
That being said, it could be a variety of factors. We moved from New York (1gbps with the wireless router in the living room) to Boston (400mbps with the router in another room) so it may not be all down to ExpressVPN.

Hoxx does the trick again. Sometimes needs a few disconnect/reconnect/refresh to get there but my last four attempts have worked first time, each time.

Just "upgraded" to Roku ultra, unfortunately the beeb is now blocking some specific devices. The VPN works but the device is blocked. I am able to download on my phone and then pay offline to the Roku.

A quick google says something about the Ultra not (yet) being for sale in the UK so I suppose that's the answer.

So what's next, a gadget that disguises what gadget is being used?
