Wellingtons
Have you ever seen a Hungarian wear wellingtons? Quite a few years ago I bought my wife some really nice expensive red wellingtons. It didn't take long before she discarded them and they've been in the garage ever since. She much prefers wearing trainers or walking shoes and letting them and her lower trousers getting as muddy and wet as they can.
So ...... what is it with Hungarians and wellingtons? Even my father-in-law doesn't have a pair .... just like my wife he's happy to get muddy and wet!

You must live on the wrong side of Miskolc, 'cos on my side lots of Hungarians wear wellies or rubber boots. I've practically lived in mine for the past month and dare I say it have even been shopping wearing them because my driveway's a quagmire and I refuse to get my decent shoes/boots caked in mud!

They do tend to make your feet cold in winter so I don't wear mine more than I have to. The special Wellington socks do help but I mostly wear motorcycle boots when out in snow, mud etc.

I bought a pair of Quechua Snow boots from Decathalon last year for 3900ft. They're just like wellingtons but with a much better grip. They also have a thermal lining and wearing a pair of thermal socks as well I find they keep my feet nice and warm.
