Rural Hungary

I'm going to see if a sub section can be set up as has been done on the Spanish, Australian and other forums.
It will be a section where off topic subjects can be discussed, in the main it will be topics relating to Hungary but not directly associated with day to day living. The only stipulation being that everybody respects each others right to have an opinion and by putting your opinion out there you have to accept that others might not agree with that opinion. Open debate is welcome but no personal attacks.

Keeping with the Hungarian theme, I was thinking of naming it Bogracs Buli but would like to hear if anybody else has a suggestion?

I was thinking Palinka something and couldn't come up with a "something" - hopefully folk wouldn't take it as an invite to indulge in a pot of Palinka before posting as then we really would see some fireworks!

I got that you were being funny - something to do with the huge sarcasm sign - what I didn't do was convey that I got it

Don't worry I sometimes write as though people know what I'm thinking and if I don't read it back, which I don't do when I'm in a hurry, it's not till later that I realise I wasn't very clear

As I've told admin, our section won't be explosive, it will be full of interesting, intelligent debate and the sharing of ideas and opinions which will be respected by one and all or is it

Seriously though, I think it will be useful and help people realise that we're not trying to gag anybody or stop people talking about certain issues it's just that the main forum is for folk moving or considering moving to Hungary and looking for information relating to this. The new section will allow members to discuss topics such as Ukraine, Hungarian politics, history and anything else that interests them.

HI RH, I understand wear you are coming from and wish separate a Blog going wrong Direction, but how can this be, we have to understand ower Owen option's ON any subject to antagonise others must remain with in ower Owen thoughts. Yes some times get over heated on subjects but it is the Pearson replaying to Blog Subject not reading and understanding before replying, but some times it can be a wind up yes I am guilty of this, but what the hell to be free to express over views in different text replays to Blog or are we going to be Penalised if others wish to separate subjects fine by myself but I have no time to separate facts from reality we are whom we are, digger47

Hi Digger, if you take a look here you'll see how it works on the Australian forum. The hope is that it will allow members to discuss all manner of things which aren't 100% relevant to moving to Hungary. For example, to wish somebody a happy birthday or have a chat about a local issue or anything really that's on their mind whilst leaving the main forum for posts about health care, travel advise, utilities and other topics pertaining to a move to Hungary.
A recent example is when Cathy posted about the Ukraine and I had to comment that it can't be discussed on the main Hungarian section. Fortunately, Cathy understood but there are times when some members don't and lash out at me for it and that isn't something I'm willing to tolerate anymore as I help out here for free and don't need the hassle. Had the new section been up and running, Cathy would have posted it there and I wouldn't have had to comment.

Sorry RH But I could not be in a open Forum on Politics or any subject witch could be miss read by other parties, my concern is we are Guests Hear and I believe their is others looking at this Forum to gauge the reaction of Brits. I remember at end of last Election a Sky reporter tried to interview people leaving after voting, to give it clear they will no disclose witch party they Voted for as repercussions at their work place in their own housing area of fear of repression. even I learnt not to show my wealth as this is offensive to the locals, I live wear I am as same level as them lot of the time I am scruffy and smelly just to fit in. digger

A sub forum isn't just for discussing politics or controversial subjects. It can be fun too and silly. We have one in Italy called Al Fresco and it's a place to hang out and have a little chat about anything in our lives that isn't all about Italy or isn't connected to Italy. We have two threads in ours that get used a lot. One is called Happy Hour and the other is for a bit of a moan if you feel like it. Think about it. There are people who don't speak the local language yet and if something funny or silly happens in your day and you want to share it with other people, to share a joke and a smile then you can in a sub forum. Same thing if something has annoyed you.
