Default Electrician in Ontario

I have recently completed 15 years service in the RAF as an Aircraft Avioinics Engineer. My training was quite specific and not recognised here in CAnada so i'm finding it difficult to find employment in this trade. Prior to my RAF service I completed an apprenticeship as a maintenance electrician. I am looking at going back to my electrical roots and I'm just trying to work out whether the 5 years I spent in the electrical trade will count for anything, as it was over 15 years ago.

I do have my PR and I am currently residing in Ontario.

Any help would be very much appreciated.

Thanks in advance!
