Scope (A brief statement of overall responsibilities)
The utilities management executive will support and assist the Utilities Sector Manager in the day to day operations incorporating the following: planning, marketing, management and development of the Utility Team, in order to achieve all strategic and operational objectives and targets, and to take lead responsibility for specific utility based and other multi discipline projects as Project Director and across the activities as indicated below.
Responsibilities and Duties
Develop and implement a strategic marketing campaign to ensure that WSP is recognized as the leading designer for the design of utilities within the Middle East and surrounding areas.
Develop and implement a fee monitoring spreadsheet to ensure staff costs and fees are monitored and accurately recorded ensuring projects are always within budget.
Manage the day to day activities of the Utilities Section requiring the coordination and management of the team leaders in the design offices
Improve efficiency of staff
Provide mentoring and career development encompassing staff development and staff potential
Prepare bids and proposals for new projects, allocating resources and fees as required and in accordance with budget.
Coordinate with Team Leaders for any recruitment needs
Liaison with Clients and relevant authorities for agreements of scope and approvals of work
Make significant contribution to the sales, profitability and management of work and people in the Business Group.
Report on a weekly basis to Utilities Division Manager on timeline progress of projects in hand

Resource Management
Assist Utilities Sector Manager with resource scheduling.
Recruitment
Assist the Utilities Sector Manager by making recruitment suggestions.
Mentoring & Coaching
Mentor, coach and develop staff and assist them to achieve their full potential.
Continuous Improvement
A commitment to continual professional development. A commitment to continual learning on relevant technological business and human relationship matters.
Training
Assist the Utilities Sector Manager to develop and manage a fair and effective training program in accordance with the requirements of the Corporate Standards.
Business Growth & Diversification
Assist the Utilities Sector Manager to deliver the growth, diversification and stability targets set out in the regional strategic budget.
Project Delivery
Coordinate the work of the project team with other engineering disciplines through liaison with other professionals. Monitor the work of staff allocated to specific projects to ensure that technical competence and performance meets the requirements of allocated projects. Ensure that all projects are delivered on time and on budget.
Quality
Ensure the relevant QA procedures are followed.
Qualifications and Experience-
1. Appropriate tertiary qualifications
2. Usually in excess of 15 years experience
3. Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
4. Demonstrated commercial acumen, customer focus and business analysis skills
5. Self confidence, tenacity and drive
6. Leadership skills
7. Arabic Speaking preferred
