Default Many opportunities in Massachusetts, USA

This is an amazing opportunity for British and Irish graduates to live and work in Massachusetts USA. We have an ever growing program for recent graduates. Massachusetts is a wonderful and varied place to live with cities, oceans, mountains and countryside. There is something there for everyone, whether your passion is shopping, sailing, skiing, theatre, hiking, lying on the beach, exploring, live music, meeting new people, you will find it all in Massachusetts.

These positions include working in community based residential units or vocational programs for adults with developmental disabilities Duties may include building life skills, role modeling, behaviour interventions, housekeeping, personal intimate care, community participation, relationship building, data collection, case management, medical advocacy, family liaison and much more.

Free temporary accommodation will be provided on arrival. This is in a nine bedroom home for international recruits in the heart of Salem Massachusetts. The accommodation is walking distance to shops, bars, restaurants, the beach, the cinema, museums and the train to Boston. Boston is 30 minutes away on the train. Transportation to and from work will be provided. After 60 days recruits are expected to provide their own accommodation and transportation. $400 towards the cost of flights will be contributed. QHSP provides a members forum for recruits waiting to arrive in Massachusetts as well as those already there. This enables recruits to make friends and ask questions of other participants.

Successful applicants with a degree in psychology or social work will qualify for a work visa which is extendable for up to six years. These applicants will be expected to make a two year commitment which may be extended if desired. All other applicants will qualify for an 18 month “practical training” visa. These visas are not extendable.

Applicants must have a bachelor’s degree and some demonstrated experience with vulnerable populations, a driving license, the ability to relocate to Massachusetts for the designated time and be able to attend an interview in the UK or Ireland.

Interviews for approximately thirty positions will take place in October.
