Chef / Cook wanted
 

We are looking for a permanent chef / cook position at Arrifana Beach in the Algarve in South West Portugal.
We are a small family business that provides healthy good mood food to people that demand best quality and taste. We run a day as well as a evening menu ranging from fine diner to fine food in a cosy beach side atmosphere.
We are looking for a cook or chef with at least 2 years experience. You must be an organised person with excellent management skills combined with a passion for using quality local produce.
Duties include:
- Taking complete control of the kitchen relating to all matters of food preparation and service.
- Completion of cleaning schedule and ensuring the kitchen is maintained to a safe and hygienic standard.
- Full compliance with food safety legislation, health and safety at work and fire safety.
- Training additional kitchen staff.
For the right person to fit in - cooking, work hard and excel with great food is one important criteria.
But as important is the desire to live a healthy and exciting life style and to appreciate the 310 days of sunshine per year, enjoy surfing or other outdoor activities and fit into the team.
Work starts end of February 2015.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
Experience in a similar role, preferably within a hotel environment
Ideally a second European language but not necessary
Food hygiene and health and safety knowledge
Passion for food and being a chef
Flexible and adaptable approach to work
Ability to be reliable and punctual
Trust and mutual respect
