Viva Italia and top o' the morning to you...

Anyone in Rome fancy meeting up tomorrow to hijack St Paddy's? Or to celebrate it if you're Irish! I don't normally celebrate St Pat's as a) I'm not Irish and b) I don't like the idea of jumping on the band wagon (especially when everyone in England flatly refuses to celebrate St George's Day), but this year I'm making an exception!

Ok then, anyone out in Rome to celebrate 150 years of this glorious nation instead?

Well it's nice to see you've all integrated so well into the Italian lifestyle of having no fun at all.

Sorry, if I were 20 years younger and single, I would have joined you.
It is no fun sitting at home with a poorly child on my own while OH works and it is raining cats and dogs outside.

IB - if most of my expat friends are anything to go by they are all taking advantage of the ponte and have fled the country!!

Fortunately I'll be fleeing the country tomorrow for a sneaky UK power up, which will involve socialising. Unfortunately I have to return to isolation/Italy, whatever you want to call this place, on Sunday.

No ponte here either, one of the smaller unions(school) decided to have a strike today, how convenient

There was a strike here too so not all the classes were at school. My kids were okay though. Hub's work had a ponte though.....

It was a mix here - all the schools were off as it was a strike here too and the private ones took it as a ponte. The next holiday (after Easter) in June is going to be a ponte for our school too! As they don't even celebrate all the holidays it's quite a change for us and I'm not moaning!! Yesterday was gorgeous too so I'm glad we weren't in school!!

InternationalBfk: If I were you I would join Couchsurfing (online) as there are tons of Romans wanting to meet for coffee and socialising. Its not all about staying on couches. There are also local group meets and as well as you organising individual ones.
Hope this helps!
