UK Food Delivery
Can anyone recommend an online UK food company that delivers to southern Italy? Have found a few on google... are there any more?
Thanks

Good stock, usually pretty fast, and if there's any problem they answer the phone.
If you use them, I'd advise not giving the full name of the province, just the CAP and the "sigla", which won't be mistaken for a town. So unless you live actually in Catanzaro city, put "CZ", not the full "Catanzaro", otherwise the bloke with the van may try to deliver it in the city.
So something like this
Sig. John Smith
Via Aldo Moro 12
San Pietro Apostolo (CZ)
88040
ITALY
It might help it you ask them to write your mobile number somewhere on the parcel (Cell: XXXXXXXXX) and keep your mobile switched on in the mornings.
And if you're really out of the way, an address at some local bar or shop will be easier to find than your house. Ask the bar/shop in advance, of course.

Same here. Or rather, same when I'm in Turin where I put the town followed by To for the province. That's the correct way, isn't it.

At Christmas the British Corner shop do various sorts of mince pies, including Duchy Originals, which are divine. Just after the Christmas Season they sell off what's left at half price.

Thanks guys... will check out the sites.
Get someone to send over mincemeat (or make it yourself)... home made mince pies are always better!

Took me ages to convince the veggie OH that there was no meat in the mincemeat.
He wouldn't touch the mince pies I painstakingly made the other year anyway. He's been sent to the Walkers factory in Speyside in Scotland a few times and that year he'd seen nothing but mincepies getting made - in October.
Family Walker did give him a huge selection box of different shortbread biscuits to bring home though and a Whiskey cake that weighed a tonne !
He also got given a fridge magnet in the shape of bagpipes and it plays "Scotland The Brave".
Before that they gave him another selection box and two little teddies with tartan hats and waistcoats on for the kids.
They offered him a job once, but I'm not living up there.

They're a bit more expensive than the BCS, and the packing isn't as good, and they're not quite as fast, but the stuff gets there in the end, and they stock some things that the BCS doesn't. They have a Marks and Sparks section.
In fact while I'm at it you might as well have all my list of foreign food suppliers.
