Step down power converters

My shipment finally arrived from the US, now what to do. I have my big screen TV and DVD players. I have checked a few places like Media World and Euronics and they don't have them in stock. I am in the Lucca area and I don't know where to go to buy it. I found them at Best Buy in the US but for a $15 dollar item with international shipping they cost almost double. Does anyone know where I can get a power converter to step down 220V to 110V.
Thanks for any help.

I don't know if you'll find one in the shops but there are plenty of them to buy online.
Just type "convertitore 220 a 110" into google and you'll find loads of online stores with speedy delivery.

Wow $15 is damn cheap for a transformer! Maybe if you have visitors coming from the states they could bring some over.

The ones I saw were around 8 or 9 euro.

Have you checked the power requirements for your TV and DVD player? Step down transformers provide a maximum load, and for the cheap ones, you can draw less than an Amp. Fine for an mp3 player or something, but not a TV.

Here's a site with some info:

For a TV it recommended an 800W transformer. Pretty sure you can't get one of those for $15.

I bought a 42" LCD a couple of months ago and it's 220-240V only. 200W
