Special needs support for toddlers
 

Hi everyone,

I wonder if anyone can help. I have just been offered a job working in Florence and need some advice. My 2 and a half year old is currently being assessed for possible autism. If I accepted the job, are there any English-speaking special needs pre-schools or other support services for toddlers in Florence? Many thanks.

A private school? Because, obviously state schools are in Italian. The International school of Florence, if they have room does -I checked- take children with mild needs, but it's PRICEY. Your daughter would have to be 3 by October.

You could try to contact the "Associazione Italiana Assistenza Bambini Autistici - Firenze" in Florence , hoping somebody there speaks reasonable English.

There is supposed to be a good Early Years setting I have heard of in Florence called 'the Canadian garden'
