Sicily
Spent last winter in northern Sicily in holiday let. Now want to return but for 2/3 + years. Rather rent and looking for any suggestions for furnished accommodation. 2 adults and a dog plus we bring UK registered car. Location flexible, though probably not Palermo. Some Italian!
Any help, much appreciated. |
Re: Sicily
Look on subito.it then sicilia and put in affito casa in all categories. As you require arredato there will be a lot of holiday lets but many are open to offers.
100 euros a week should get you a small simple place. If you fancy Puglia I know a small courtyard unit you can get for 50 euros a week in a rubbish free town 5 km from Leuca. |
Re: Sicily
Many thanks cardi. Will look at sites you mention and bear your Puglia property in mind as we may want to spend some time on the southern mainland . Ciao

Re: Sicily
The trick isn not to say you want for 3 years. Look for a furnished let on a contratto transitorio which is up to 18months, usually renewable yearly. This will give both you and the landlord more leeway, especially as alot of homes for rent are also for sale, and the landlord doesnt want to sell a rented property, if you are willing to allow people in to see the house for example, you can negotiate on the rent. However, look on subito, but theres not alot - try immobiliare.it and if you're in a town with an affittocasa you cant try that. Best is to arrive, and start looking. On the coast, most landlords want holiday lets, but will let you rent long term out of season - ie Sept to June.
