Hello everyone, I have recently been thinking about getting a flat in turin. I heard about the rent to buy scheme. Does anyone have any experience with it or have any valuable information they could share about exactly how it works, if it's a good way to get on the property ladder and what are the likelihood of actually finding a good flat this way. Hi. Its not really a scheme, its just an option that has been permitted in the jungle of contracts. In Turin you would be paying about 2700/3000 euros psm for an apartment to buy. With rent to buy your outgoings would be the same as getting a mortgage so its only really an option for someone who couldnt get the financing. There is no hard and fast rule, as it is down to individual landlords to decide how and if they 'rent to buy'. How vibrant the market is in Torino at the moment will have a lot to do with how disposed owners are to consider the scheme.
