Points on Driving Licence

Having searched around unsuccessfully, with my next stop in a few days time being the local autoscuola, is there somewhere online where I can find out how many points I have on my Italian Licence.
I definitely got 3 knocked off for speeding and I got a letter from some comune telling me so, but is there a nationwide site I could look at ?
Does one need to declare this when hiring a car ?
