In other words, without America and the British empire it would be a different language on the road to global domination.

Just been on a quick VFR visit to London. You could have kidded me that English has reached global dominance. About the only native English speakers I encountered were black cab drivers. Whereas the catering labour market appears dominated by Italian speakers.
ciao for now,

A quick addition: no one tells English speakers that they should pronounce Birmingham as Beer-min-gam when speaking Italian.

Maybe not the most esteemed publication, but

Un big

??

Vladimir Luxuria: “Io e un big della destra ci siamo amati” | Blitz quotidiano

Is this commonly used?

Yes, it is commonly used; mainly by gossip magazines and suchlike. Usually applied to people are anything but 'big'. Buon ferragosto.

Only by journalists when they have to write a title for an article and don't have enough space.

Interested to see that a liceo internazionale which prides itself on teaching everything in English has 'Economy' in the curriculum this year. Wonder if they'll be teaching how to save up or spend money in the best possible way?

..or perhaps they meant Economics.?

Well, I meant cheap!

A nice pedantic definition:
An economical rent: good for the tenant, cheap.
An economic rent: good for the landlord because it is in line with the economic reality of the market.

Last minute:

Viale Elmas, la Babele del sesso last minute: regna il degrado - Casteddu Online

Though if they want to use English I fear they don't really appreciate it - it can be a hell of a lot more succinct than that.
