pensions
Any one have a clear idea about the UK pension situation for ex pats in Italy?
We're about to buy a house in Lunigiana (to live in - not a holiday home) and thought that as long as we pay our voluntary NI contributions from now until we're 65 we will get the full British pension, the same as if we were living in Britain.
But when we logged onto the NI site to work out our entitlement it asked if we were living abroad but didn't explain what difference it would make.
By the way, I see Charles Kennedy is promising pensions will depend on residence not on contributions paid if he becomes prime minister!
