Hi I am from the UK and looking to move to Vicenza in January has any one on here got experience in opening a company in Italy IE a bar or restaurant?

Any help/advice would be welcome.

Before you can open a food related business you need to do a course and pass the exam in handling foodstuffs. You need a licence for your premises, so you will have to buy a ongoing business and take over the licnece or see if Vicenza is prepared to issue new ones. Then you can think about opening a business.

This young woman from Umbria has done the opposite thing. Fed up with a dead end job in Perugia she has opened a restaurant in Edinburgh. It shows the difficulties that Modicasa mentions for her starting a business here.
