Since above was posted, I still think it a good idea to send an email to Piano di Sorrento anagrafe via modicasa's very kind offer Local elections have thrown anything connected with Villa Fondi into turmoil. Nearly all of the officials connected with the administration of Villa Fondi have been arrested on corruption charges They were looking on weddings, concerts etc. as a nice little earner whilst benefitting from large amounts of Regional, National, and EU funds. Questions have even been raised in the EU Parliament in Strasbourg.
With the details we have exchanged via PM will then try my/your luck Wed.

I have tried to PM him to no avail also - I really am stuck as the courts here are going to throw the divorce out because we cannot produce this certificate

This is probably no help, but just in case:
If you need an address in Italy for them to send the certificate to I would be glad to oblige and I could send it on for you. Alternatively, I don't mind going and picking it up for you if they will allow it. I am not too far away and have time - pm me if needed.

thank you so much for your kind offer, I have sent 3 emails for the past month, but no one is coming back to me and they won’t deal with over the phone as I don’t speak Italian so I am having real problems if it’s not too much trouble to ask if you are heading that way if I give you all the details do you think you would be able to call in and find out how we can get a copy I am desperate really now

Interesting place the comune at Piano di Sorrento. Lots of lovely modern offices, but very few people in them doing anything on a stormy Monday morning. I have promised to extend my thanks to the very kind Ufficio di Stato Civile chap who was very helpful after a lot of initial chit chat, and produced like magic the required bit of paper. Not in the least interested after all that in protocols. Top man in Piano di Sorrento, Sig. Antonino Aversa, from the Civic List now running the town hall. Assured me that anybody wants to get married in Villa Fondi, no problem.
