Internet in Italy
Just a curiosity that I came across this week - thought I'd post it and see what you all think
There is a senator who is proposing an amendment that has been approved in the Senate, to draft a law that will permit the censure of any site/blog/social network (ie Youtube/Facebook) at the request of the Minister of Interior Crimes ( For example - a film clip or a group that invites people not to observe a law that is considered to be unjust) WITHOUT ANY VERDICT FROM A MAGISTRATE. Today this only happens in one other country and that is China (in other words a dictatorship).
Basically the internet will be put under the control of executive power and free citizens will no longer have a 'free' voice !
this is the gist of an interview given by the senator in the Espresso magazine.
Slightly worrying isn't it ??

Re: Internet in Italy
I think there is already a FB group dedicated to stopping it!! This all rings a bell with me and I'm sure it wasn't in a newspaper, so I think it is a group on FB.....

Anyone who has watched SanRemo will know that Roberto Benigni did a great sektch of about half an hour and really took the mickey out of Mr B.
It WAS on Youtube but has now been 'removed' and some waffle story given about the copyright laws of the Rai.............?
There are alot of angry comments and people mentioning 'dictatorship'
