Re: Info on Turin

Hi there

I live in the province of Cuneo and I am only 90 minutes from Turin.
It is a very lively and vibrant city with some fantastic historical monuments. The shopping is of course fantastic and the peolple in general are very friendly. It reminds of a smaller version of Rome.

I hope this helps

Re: Info on Turin

Hi Joanne, looks like we may be in the same boat. My husband and I are likely to be relocating to Turin quite soon. We have two children aged 4 and 2, our daughter has literally just started school and has settled well. It's going to be quite an upheaval, I can, however, say two key phrases in Italian "a carrier bag please" and "two glasses of red wine please" so the language won't pose too much of a problem - not.

I have been to Italy a few times namely Venice, Milan, Florence, Verona and Lake Maggiore all of which were gorgeous and the food fantastic. I have never been to Turin though. We have been advised that Pino Torinese, Chieri and Moncalieri area, where the international school is located, are all really nice.

What stage are you at, are you there now, are your children at a local school or the international? Any info at all you could give me would be very much appreciated.

If you are there, or about to go, good luck and I hope to hear from you.

Regards Gail

Turin is the capital of the Piemonte region which is still largely undiscovered by the British, although with the recent winter games, that is starting to change. The Langhe region famous for its wines such as Barolo is really worth a visit, stunning scenery and great food
