Question House & Contents Insurance!!

Hi again
Just wondering if anyone can supply details of insurance companies in italy? I've heard that most italians don't bother insuring their property! Being used to "having" house and contents insurance in the UK, i'm finding it difficult to imagine not having any in italy!! Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I would also be interested in the answer to this as i am about to buy a property. Certainly buildings insurance is available because, as part of my rental agreement, i pay the premium on my current (rented) accommodation.

We just insured our property in Bulgaria with this company and we really got a good quote for building + contents http://www.holmans.co.uk/hhf.htm
there is another UK company that also does insurance for holidays home abroad is called Lark http://www.larkinsurance.co.uk/ we used them last year

I hope it helps
